Martin A. O'Toole, M.D., F.A.C.S.


Dr. Martin O'Toole is a native of Southern California and has been in Pasadena since 1988.

He completed six years of training in General Surgery at Huntington Memorial Hospital including a year as Chief Resident.

He trained two additional years in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Texas A & M University. He is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery. His plastic surgery training was very comprehensive and included the latest reconstructive procedures including microvascular surgery for Craniofacial Surgery and Hand Surgery. He also received expensive training in cosmetic procedures of the face and body. A large portion of his training involved surgery of the breasts.

His training also emphasized the latest aesthetic procedures such as endoscopic brow and face lifts and the use of lasers for skin resurfacing, removing birthmarks and pigmented spots as well as tattoo removal. He has attended many of the latest national conferences on aesthetic surgery procedures and continues to keep abreast of the latest innovative developments. Dr. O'Toole has also been featured doing breast reconstruction surgery on the Discovery Channel.

Research

Dr. O'Toole has been honored for his contribution to scientific research in his specialty. He has been invited to present his work to the National Annual Meetings of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) for three consecutive years in San Diego, Dallas and San Francisco. He is a contributing author of a text book on aesthetic and endoscopic surgery. Dr. O'Toole was awarded the first place prize for his research presentation at the Texas Medical Association convention.


Volunteer Work

Dr. O'Toole has volunteered his time to help patients who are underprivileged. He is a volunteer faculty member of the surgical residency program at Huntington Memorial Hospital and assists resident physicians in caring for the indigent population. He also has made trips to El Salvador with a group of medical missionaries to operate on poor children with cleft lip and cleft palate deformities.
